Racial attacks: Indians students rally in Sydney

Melbourne, Jun 7: Hundreds of Indian students on Sunday, Jun 7 took out a massive rally in Sydney to protest against the racial attacks targeting the Indian community.

Federation of Indian Students Association (FISA), Sydney Chaper, along with the National Union Student organised the rally. The protesters marched from Townhall to High Park in Sydney, shouting anti-racism slogans. Sources said that the students propose to organise another rally in Brisbane too.

On Sunday, Jun 7, thousands of Indian students demanded justice for victims of recent attacks, including 25-year-old Shravan Kumar who was seriously injured after being stabbed with a screwdriver by a group of teenagers who also assaulted his three Indian friends.

Bahrain Minister denies racism charges

Dubai, Feb 2: Bahrain's Labour Minister Majeed Al Alawi, who was criticised by human rights groups for allegedly making racist remarks, rejected the charge saying his call was only meant to protect the Gulf's identity and culture. ''People at times tend to confuse between preserving cultural identity and racism. Bahrain does not mind multiple and varied cultures, but they must not affect its identity in a negative way,'' Majeed Al Alawi said. ''We all learn from others, but we want to co-exist.....

Racial Attack on Indian students in Australia

Melbourne, May 26: Four Indian students were allegedly assaulted in their homes by a couple of teenagers in Melbourne. The Indian students who hail from Andhra Pradesh were reportedly injured and one is in serious condition. The media is over exxagerating the incidents in Australia. And moreover INDIA doesn't've de right 2 spk abt rascism. Put an end to Inter regional rascism. An Eg is the Bombay incidents where people from Bihar and UP were thrashed from Mumbai. Another good one, The Karnataka against the Tamil. Put an end to casteism the most shameful act of humanity. No rights for the Indians to speak about rascism. How many Foreign tourists are raped here and how many of them've got justice. Over exaageration of the media has made this a big issue.
