N Korea now prepares for long-range missile test

N Korea fired up to 6 short range missiles over last week
Seoul, Jun 1; According to news reports, North Korea has now placed its most advanced and long-range missile on the launch pad.

The ballistic missile is likely to be launched in a week's time, a newspaper reported. This could even happen when the South Korean President Lee Myung-bak meets President Obama in Washington on June 16, according to the report.

On Friday, May 29 North Korea launched its sixth missile off its east coast and released a statement saying that it will respond to the if the UN Security Council (UNSC) agreed any fresh sanctions over the tests. The preparation for this new launch comes when UNSC contemplates new sanctions against North Korea's underground nuclear test and launching short-range missiles last month.
