Brazil: Air France jet with 228 onboard missing

Paris, Jun 1: Reports suggest that an Air France plane flying from Rio de Janerio in Brazil to Paris has gone missing over the Atlantic ocean on Monday, Jun 1.

With 216 passengers and 12 crew members on board, the flight was due to arrive in Paris at 09:10 hrs GMT (11:10 hrs local time). However the flight disappeared from radar screens while flying over the Atlantic off the Brazilian coast.

Paris airports authority spokeswoman said that the plane was expected in Paris at 11:10 am. Air traffic control lost contact with the flight at 06:00 hrs GMT, shortly after it took off from Rio de Janeiro bound for Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris.

Search operation is under way near the Brazilian island of Fernando de Noronha.

Amsterdam, May 9: Dutch airline KLM will probably seek an independent investigation into whether it flew Nazi fugitives to Argentina after the Second World War, the national airline said. KLM airlines to suspend Hyderabad service

Hyderabad, Oct 23: On Thursday, Oct 23 the KLM airlines decided to suspend its Hyderabad service from February 1, 2007. KLM in a media release said that the reason for suspending the service was the current economic situation in India and worldwide. Passengers, booked after February 1, would be booked on to other flights and informed in a timely manner. The airlines will remain active in the Hyderabad market and passengers can continue to fly with the KLM and/or its partner Air.....

Perec gives media the slip in France

Paris: Triple Olympic champion Marie-Jose Perec returned home still running from the media on Friday after telling France's sports minister she had fled Sydney because she "cracked under the pressure of the Australian press."The minister, Marie-George Buffet, spoke to the athlete by telephone from Sydney while Perec was in Singapore on Thursday awaiting a flight to France.On arrival at 6:20 a.m. (0420 GMT) in Paris, Perec and her companion Anthuan Maybank were ushered away by Air.....

Finding the vertical tail broke off is important. Same as AA587 Nov 2001 vert tail broke off due toturbulance agrevated by pilot rudder over controls. I expect to see this if black box is recovered.
