Indo-US Nuclear Deal
Washington, May 22: India informed United states that the Indo-US nuclear deal is still a high priority for the new government and it would very much like to move forward on it.

Meera Shankar, Indian Ambassador to US said to the US-India Business Council (USIBC) on Thursday, May 21 that India was keen at commercial deals with US manufacturers for building nuclear reactors. To facilitate the process, New Delhi was looking at speeding up talks on arrangements to give effect to India's right to reprocess US origin spent fuel and wanted to pursue this vigorously.

She added that India is also planning to join the international nuclear liability convention, another issue of concern for the US nuclear suppliers.

BJP has no clear stance on N-deal: Cong

Khargone, MP, Aug 24: Congress General Secretary and MP Arun Kumar has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party did not display a clear stance vis-a-vis the Indo-US '123' Nuclear Agreement. ''That is why the saffron party is not describing the deal as wrong but nevertheless creating hurdles as it does not desire implementation,'' he told mediapersons at this district headquarters yesterday. Mr Kumar assured that party President Sonia Gandhi was informed of his views regarding selection of a candidate for the Khargone.....
