Kakinada, May 18: Hearing the news of mega star Chiranjeevi's defeat in Palakollu assembly constituency in the just concluded general elections, a die-hard fan allegedly committed suicide on Sunday, May 17 night.

Nalla Narayana Giri (45), a mason by profession consumed pesticide at his residence in Kothalanka village of Mummidivaram Mandal in Konaseema Region. Though he was rushed to hospital in Amalapuram immediately, he succumbed on Monday, May 18 morning.

He is survived by two daughters, a son and his wife.

10 persons surrender in Dr Rajasekhar attack case

Hyderabad, Jan 29: At least ten people, who claimed to have attacked Telugu film actor Rajasekhar and his family members yesterday, surrendered before the police today. Police said the ten people came to Panjagutta police station this morning and surrendered, claiming that they had attacked the film actor. Chiranjeevi's father dies after brief illness

Hyderabad, Dec 24: Well known Telugu film star Chiranjeevi's father K Venkat Rao died at the actor's residence here last night following brief illness. He was 76. He is survived by three sons and two daughters. Mr Rao had worked in the state Excise department and was a district Superintendent of Police (SP) before his retirement.
