Man sues activists for calling week long sex ban

Kenya Map
Nairobi, May 11: James Kimondo, a Kenyan man has filed a lawsuit on Friday, May 8 against activists who called upon the women to boycott sex over the instability in the country's coalition government.

The man was of the opinion that the one week long sex-ban was scathing and caused him stress, mental anguish, backaches and lack of sleep, revealed his lawyer.

The lawsuit filed claims lack of conjugal rights affected Kimondo's marriage. The activists say they are not worried over the suit.

"I have not been served with the papers, but I was told they are coming and I am eagerly waiting," Ann Njogu, executive, director of Centers for Rights Education and Awareness told CNN. "It will be interesting to see the face of a man who is not willing to abstain for the sake of his country."

The boycott was organized by G-10 an umbrella group for gender-equity activists. This has caused quiet a lot of debate in the nation that is collectively frustrated with the strained relations between President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
