CBI arrests 8 in CRPF recruitment scam case

Patna, May 6: Eight people including IG Pushkar Singh was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday, May 6 in connection with the CRPF recruitment scam. Rs 1 crore cash was recovered from Singh's residence and office.

Out of the 8 arrested, 5 of them are held in Pune, while the other three arrested in Delhi were brought here on transit remand. The CBI unearthed a recruitment scam where several senior officers of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were allegedly involved in collecting gratification from candidates interested on joining the CRPF.

All over India, CBI raided nearly a dozen places. During the raids the investigation agency seized a large number of incriminating documents, accounts of payments and records of various candidates.
