Madarsa in Agra spreads awareness about voting

Agra, Apr 23 (ANI): A madarsa in Agra is highlighting the importance of voting to its students. The teachers at the madarsa are trying to motivate the future voters.

The teachers at the madarsa feel that it's best to catch the children young, as they grasp more and follow whatever they are taught in the times to come.

The students are also hailing the initiative taken by the teachers.

"The education being imparted to us is very essential because till the time we do not understand who to elect as our leader, till the time we do not have adequate knowledge, how can we vote," said Fareen Rehmani, a student.

The teachers say that their prime objective is to highlight the importance of voting and groom the students to make informed choices in the future, when exercising their voting rights.

The headmaster mentioned that voting is the most important tool in a democracy and the duty of every citizen.

"The education is important so that our children in the future can distinguish between right or wrong. We should voter for such an individual, who will work for us," said Maulana Mehmood Asrar, a headmaster.

This is a unique initiative to catch the voters young and make them politically aware, hence, enhancing their accountability towards the nation in the times to come.

This thinking is also important for the madarsa as people have now started looking at such Islamic organizations with suspicion. So such a move will certainly go a long way in changing the perception of the people. By Brijesh Kumar Singh (ANI)
