For Afridi hitting sixes with bat more enjoyable than taking wickets

Dubai, Apr.23 (ANI): All rounder Shahid Afridi prefers hitting fours and sixes than taking wickets with his sharp leg-break deliveries.

Afridi, who returned with career best bowling figures of 6-38 in 10 overs against Australia in the first one-day international of the five match series here, said he liked scoring runs more than taking wickets.

"I would love to score more runs because this is my trademark and people want me to hit more fours and sixes," The News quoted Afridi, as saying.

Afridi not only gave a tough time to the Oz batsmen with his sharp turning and bouncing leg-breaks, but later in the innings he played a typical 'boom boom Afridi' innings of 24 of just 16 balls.

Afridi said he would like his form to continue for the whole series, and later in the Twenty20 World Cup also.

"Doing well against Australia is great because they are a very good team, so I hope to continue with that and then focus my attention on the Twenty20 World Cup, because last time we lost the final," he added. (ANI)
