The 'selfish' cow that drinks up all its milk!

New Delhi, April 20 (ANI): A Chinese farmer has much to complaint after her cow started to feed on its own milk, leaving her empty-handed.

Owner Guli Nisha, from Urumqi, capital of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, said the animal had found a unique way of being self-sufficient by turning its head around and drinking its own milk, reports the China Daily.

Guli revealed: "I do not know what caused the cow to drink its own milk, but I know I got no milk from it and had to spend some 30 yuan (4.40 dollars) to feed it."

Meanwhile, a livestock official was left baffled with the news, which was reported the first of its kind. (ANI)

UK Bluetongue case is same strain found in Europe

London, Sep 23: The Bluetongue virus found in a cow in eastern England is the same strain which has been found in parts of northern Europe, the agriculture ministry said today. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) said the case, Britain's first, was not a confirmed outbreak unless further investigation showed that disease was circulating and said that could take ''days or weeks'' to assess. The discovery of the Bluetongue virus was a fresh setback for Britain's livestock farmers,.....

Hindu fury at RSPCA over holy cow killing

London, Dec 26: Hundreds of Hindus are expected to protest outside the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) headquarters today over the slaughter of a sacred cow at their temple while they worshipped.
