Etah, Apr 17: At around 6:30 PM, Varun Gandhi was finally freeded from his detention in the Etah Jail as per the orders given by the Supreme court on Thursday, Apr 16.
The Bharatiya Janata Party leader was welcomed by the party supporters with slogans like 'Varun Gandhi Zindabad' and 'Maneka Gandhi Zindabad'. Varun Gandhi was received by his mother and BJP leader Maneka Gandhi, and left to New Delhi. Reports say that Varun Gandhi has reached New Delhi in the night and will be moving to Pilibhit on April 20 or 21.
Varun Gandhi is likely to resume campaigning for his own seat in Pilibhit, in the state of Uttar Pradesh which will go to the polls in the last round of voting on May 13.

"Varun Gandhi will be moving to Pilibhit on April 20 or 21," his office said adding that he had arrived in the city at around 10 pm. They further informed that he will probably accompany his mother Maneka Gandhi to her constituency Aaonla on Saturday, Apr 18 where she will file her nomination. Varun Gandhi is likely to resume campaigning for his own seat in Pilibhit, in the state of Uttar Pradesh which will go to the polls in the last round of voting on May 13.
