Chappal chucked at L K Advani

L K Advani
Katni, Apr 16: An ex- Bharatiya Janata Party member allegedly threw a slipper at the party's prime ministerial candidate, L K Advani at an election rally in Katni, Madhya pradesh on Thursday, Apr 16. The person who threw the footwear is identified to be Pawas Agrawal, a former BJP worker. The accused is now in Police custody.

When the Agrawal was questioned regarding the reason for his action he told the media that Advani was "nakli Lauh Purush" (fake Iron Man) and that he did not deserve to be the party's Prime Ministerial candidate.

He further added, "He has no ideology. On the one hand he asks for votes in the name of Ram and on the other hand pays obeisance to (Pakistan founder Mohammed Ali) Jinnah."

The other BJP members present at the rally were shocked and they believed that the Congress may be involved in the incident. However the Congress has expressed its disapproval this and asked BJP not to publicise the issue.

This is the third incident of shoe-chucking that has happened recently. About a week ago Jarnail Singh, a journalist threw a shoe at the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram. The second incident happened when Congress MP Naveen Jindal was targeted by a school principal.
