Queen sent 'warmest good wishes' to dying Jade Goody

London, April 15 (ANI): The Queen had sent her "warmest good wishes" to Jade Goody a week before the reality star lost her life to cancer.

The Royal had taken the unusual step of sending the heartfelt message in a note that had arrived at the late 27-year-old's home in Upshire, Essex as she lay struggling for her life.

Jade, who passed away on March 22, in a magazine's diary extract, wrote about the typed letter, which was written on a Buckingham Palace headed notepaper and signed on behalf of Her Majesty by one of her staff.

"Jack's sister Laura came and read out a letter from the Queen's secretary," the Sun quoted Jade as writing.

It read: "I have been instructed to convey the Queen's warmest good wishes to Jade at what must be a very difficult time for her and her family."

Jade added: "Laura had written to her asking for her support because she knows how much I love the Queen.

" 'The Queen', I said. That was so nice."

While the Palace confirmed a letter was sent, a royal source added: "It's unusual for the Queen to send best wishes. This is a sign that she took a personal interest." (ANI)
