New York, Apr 15 (ANI): Comedian Jim Carrey is taking his new role in "The Three Stooges" very seriously, and is putting on pounds to get his part right.
The 47-year-old star will be playing 'Curly' in the upcoming film.
Carrey's girlfriend Jenny McCarthy has revealed that he is doing everything to grow fat, and is "basically enjoying his desserts."
"He's gaining weight," the New York Daily News quoted her as saying on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
"He's going to gain 50 pounds to play Curly. He's just having so much fun with it.
"I have no idea what it's going to be like when he hits near 300 pounds. But, you know, he's in his comedy. He works hard at it," she added.
Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro are reportedly joining Carrey, with Penn playing Larry, and Del Toro playing Moe.
The movie version of The Three Stooges is not a biopic, but a comedy based on the antics of the three characters, and production is set to begin in early fall for a 2010 release date. (ANI)
