Riaz Ahmed snubs Maneka, throws silence at Varun

Varun Gandhi
Pilibhit, Apr 14: Varun Gandhi's opponent from Pilibhit Riaz Ahmed, a Samajwadi Party candidate has said that keeping his cool will help him win the election against the fiery Bharatiya Janata Party candidate.Commenting on his opponent, he told "My silence is my biggest weapon against his communal speeches as reacting to them would have meant playing into their (BJP's) hands and fulfilling their agenda of creating a wedge between the two communities here."

Reports allege that Varun Gandhi called his opponent Osama bin Laden look-alike. Riaz believes that his silence will be appreciated by the people and even may help him win the Hindu votes in time of unrest created by Varun's hate speech.

However, he attacked Varun's mother, Maneka Gandhi for using her son to raise communal issues in Pilibhit for wining the elections and added that she had failed in her two terms as the MP from here.
