Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 13: While addressing a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Prime Ministerial candidate, L K Advani on Monday, Apr 13 asked the Congress President Sonia Gandhi to apologise owing to her critical remarks on the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) she had made.
Advani said that he was shocked to hear Gandhi's statement that, "we are in greater danger from people inside than from foreign terrorists entering India". Although Sonia Gandhi did not mention any party's name, Advani belived it 'substantially accuses us and the comments were clear'.
He further added that Sonia Gandhi had little knowledge on party history and said that Jan Sangh and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have been appreciated in the past by leaders like Nehru and Shastri for their contribution to the country.
"Obviously, she does not know the history of her own party. She makes a statement of this kind. This is slander. She should apologise for this statement or join a debate on fundamentalist issues like Al Qaeda," said Advani.
Advani further said that the fight was predominantly between the BJP-led NDA and the Congress-led UPA and said, "The so-called Third and Fourth Fronts were irrelevant as they were opportunists, who had no platform on their own or a common platform. The CPI(M) was trying to cobble a Third Front only to fight its own growing irrelevance,"
Now the Congress Party has asked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to apologise for the Babri mosque demolition and communal statements made by its leaders.

Reacting to this Congress spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said, "Advani should begin by seeking an apology for Babri; he has to seek an apology for keeping quiet during Varun Gandhi's reprehensive divisive speech, Praveen Togadia, Vinay Katyals and Narendra Modi have to seek apology."Now the Congress Party has asked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to apologise for the Babri mosque demolition and communal statements made by its leaders.
