Japanese tips to fight recession

Juki
Bangalore, Apr 10: People associated with textile industry received tips to fight recession from a Japanese company at a seminar held in Bangalore.

The industrial sewing giant from Japan, Juki, has set up its Indian head quarter in Bangalore. It is providing training to the exporters, garment manufacturers and workers to come out of the tough situation.

The Japanese company conducted surveys on how the companies dealt with the financial crisis.

Mayur, training engineer, said at the seminar that at the time of recession everyone wanted quick delivery, faster production and higher productivity at a lower cost. So, through the seminar they wanted to provide knowledge how to achieve the targets.

"Our main motto is not selling machines at the present, but mainly to introduce this type of activity to the customers. So that they mainly consider three points, one is quality at lesser cost and faster delivery. We feel that doing this type of programme, it helps the textile owners to reduce the manpower as well as their cost is also reduced. In this way, they can increase productivity and have a better quality," said Mayur.

The supervisors and the employees of the garment companies who received training are giving feed back to the Japanese company on improvements required.
