Congress to rethink fielding Jagdish Tytler

New Delhi Apr 8: After the shoe throwing incident, which embarrassed the party, Congress on Tuesday, Apr 7 expressed its openness to review the candidatures of Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar. The duo was accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. But the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) gave Tytler a clean chit, creating widespread protest among the Sikh community.

P Chidamabaram, the Union Home Minister faced the anguish of a Sikh journalist during a press conference, after he refused to answer Jarnail Singh's question regarding Jagdish Tytler. Reacting to the incident Congress spokesperson Ashwini Kumar said, "Congress is a large party and it takes considered decisions at appropriate time. Let us see what solutions emerge in the future."

Congress party which is fielding Tytler in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections from the North East Delhi parliamentary constituency despite Sikhs' anguish and protest may receive a negative result, if a retrospection is not done on time.
