McGrath says Twenty20 needs high energy level

New Delhi, Apr 7 (ANI): Australian cricket great Glenn McGrath has said India's cash-rich Twenty20 league has uplifted the game to a higher level.

"It's definitely different format of cricket. We take it too seriously. It is a quick and energetic game. You can't afford to have one or two bad overs. So you got to focus the whole time, so it's at different energy level being played so you got to be fit, ready to go," he said after he was felicitated by a bunch of young cricket fans here.

The IPL, which involves many of the world's leading players, was a huge success in its inaugural edition in India last year, primarily because it is structured around city-based franchises with a fan base in home and away matches.

The eight-team league would be staged in South Africa from April 18 due to security reasons.The BCCI wanted to stage the event overseas after failing to get government clearance for security cover as the tournament's dates clash with the general elections. (ANI)

Breast cancer work earns Jane McGrath posthumous honour

Melbourne, Mar 5 (ANI): Australian cricketer Glenn McGrath's wife Jane will be posthumously honoured for her contribution in raising awareness of breast cancer.Jane, who lost her own battle with cancer in June last year, will be honoured on international Women's Day on March 8.She and husband Glenn co-founded the McGrath Foundation to raise money for breast cancer nurses and to raise awareness about the disease in 2002.New South Wales Premier Nathan Rees announced in the parliament that.....
