D Srinivas, AP Cong leader in 'hate speech' row

D Srinivas
Hyderabad, Apr 7: After Varun Gandhi and Lalu Prasad Yadav, its was Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (AICC) president D Srinivas who landed in trouble reportedly for his provocative speech at an election rally in Nizamabad.

In an obvious retort to BJP's new Hindutva face Varun's comments, Srinivas said that he would sacrifice his head for the minorities if needed and would cut off the hands of those who pointed a finger at them. This prompted the BJP, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal to submit separate complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer demanding disqualification of Srinivas and action against him under the National Security Act (NSA) like the one initiated against Varun Gandhi.

Hearing the news Congress party source rushed to the Election Commission office and explained that D Srinivas comments were misquoted nu the print media. However a probe is ordered into the incident by EC.
