Tata Nano made of peoples' blood: Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata, Apr 3: Mamata Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress chief said she would never use Tata Nano, the world's cheapest car, as it is made with the 'blood of people'.

"Which car I ride is my fundamental right. But I will not ride the car which has been manufactured with the blood of people," Banerjee said to a Bengali channel.

"I think the entire show of the Nano launch is a mere election propaganda. They have sent only three cars to Kolkata. The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) cadres are driving them. Now people will book the cars by paying Rs 3,000. Then there will be a lottery, and nobody will get the cars. And then these so called Nano cars will vanish," she added.

Mamata and her Trinamool Congress's anti-land acquisition agitation led to the shifting of 'Nano' plant from Singur of West Bengal to Sanad of Gujarat.

AIFB urges Mamata to end hunger strike

Lucknow, Dec 28: Appealing to Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee to withdraw her hunger strike and come to the discussion table, All India Forward Block(AIFB) general secretary and MP Debabrata Biswas today said all possible efforts have been made to evolve the Singur deal as a pro-farmers project. Mamta Banerjee wants her way, her name, and her power. If people agreed to work at a certain price then the people understand better. It was not as if Tata had made slaves of people. NO. Mamta banerjee made them shift and then she had to bite her tongue. Hoping that they would come back. But its so bad now that this government of mamta must go its a shame she killed the peoples aspiration just for the sake of her own power. Mamta banerjee and uma bharti sound like sisters to me. BOth say things without a brain. Shame on you mamta banerjee. You have no mamta but ahankar in you and the one who has ahankar always bites the dust

Ms Banerjee, you always maintained the fact that you understand peoples grievance. Then just like a common man why dont you use public transport, why use cars and other mode of luxury?? You these days are saying BJP in nonsecular and they are against development. Although ten years back when they were in power you were one of the first who openly showered them with your support. Now when Congress is at power you want us to believe that according to you they are the best India could get. If you are so impressed by them then why did you once carve out TMC from INC and if you are really so impressed then you can very well go back and join Congree. What say mam??
