Sanju makes scathing attack on Mayawati

Sanjay Dutt
Saharanpur/Mumbai, Apr 3: Sanjay Dutt, the newly appointed General Secretary of Samajwadi Party (SP) is now busy commenting on or retorting to comments of other politicians.

The 'war of the words' began with Sanjay Dutt's remark on Mayawati. He expressed dismay at the amount of state money that Mayawati spent on her statues instead of people's development.

"When I came to Lucknow, I saw statues all around and I was told by one that all these were statues of Mayawati. I found it weird because the statue of a person is made after his death. The amount of money wasted in making the statues should have been utilised for people's welfare," Dutt said while addressing a public meeting on Thursday, Apr 2.

At the same time, in Mumbai, Sanjay Nirupam, a senior Congress leader called Sanjay Dutt's allegations of him being responsible for Sunil Dutt's death as 'baseless'. Dutt had said that his father had objected for Nirupam to join Congress as he was part of Shiv Sena. He also added that Nirupam had once picked on his father who was weak at heart. And that eventually led to his death, therefore holding Nirupam responsible.

All this was later followed by Nirupam imploring that Sunil Dutt must be kept out of such talks as he was a great man who deserved nothing but respect.
