Mom pens 'highs and lows' of Phelps career

Michael Phelps
New York, Apr 3: Debbie Phelps, mother of ace swimmer Michael Phelps' has penned a tell-all book describing the 'highs and lows' of her son's career.

In her book titled 'A Mother for All Seasons', Debbie Phelps writes about 'one golden boy turned loser' and his 'disappointing, uncharacteristic behaviour'. New York Daily News reports that the book talks about Michael's DUI arrest and infamous bong hit.

Meanwhile, after the three months ban imposed by Swimming USA following Michael's marijuana scandal, the 14-time Olympic gold medallist has committed to swim in the Quebec Cup at Montreal's Olympic Parc in June.

Phelps won a record eight gold medals - setting seven world records in the process - at the Beijing Olympics last Aug, breaking the 36-year-old mark held by fellow American Mark Spitz.
