
New Delhi, Apr 2: The Supreme Court of India on Thursday, Apr 2 challenged the Uttar Pradesh government and the District Magistrate of Pilibhit's decision of slapping the National Security Act against Bharatiya Janata Party leader Varun Gandhi.

The bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) K G Balakrishnan deferred the case for hearing on Apr 13. UP government slapped NSA on Varun allegedly for the 'hate speech' he made during his Pilibhit election campaign. Varun's lawyer said that his party is illegally detained, as the proceeding to be followed for arresting under NSA was not followed.OneIndia News
