Reebok's new ball to end all controversy related to goals

London, Apr 1 (ANI): Manchester United star Ryan Giggs along with Olympic Gold medal sprinter Darren Campbell will today launch Reebok's new AF1 football range, which will put an end to arguments at kickabouts up and down the country over whether a goal should stand.

Using NASA (New Advanced Sports Aerodynamics) technology, the AF1 kit will prove once and for all whether a ball has hit jumper - or actually crossed the line, the Mirror reported.

A chip inside the AF1 ball and a sensor inside the jumper will end any debate. If the ball crosses over the jumper, the chip sets off a sensor, which lights up a panel on the front.

If the light flashes, the goal is disallowed because the ball has been scientifically proven to have passed over the jumper, effectively hitting a post, thus fooling no-one.

"It's so accurate and easy to use. I feel honoured to have been able to test the first of its kind. I'm definitely having one of these for home - the kids will love it," Giggs said.

Reebok's Germany-based sports marketing executive April Fuhle said: "This technology, which has been in development for 10 years, will change the face of kickabouts all over the world." (ANI)
