Gideon Yu, Facebook CFO quits

San Francisco, Apr 1: Social networking site Facebook on Wednesday, Apr 1 confirmed that Chief Financial Officer, Gideon Yu is quiting the company. The company sources said that it is in search for someone 'with public company experience' to replace Yu, who earlier left a similar job at YouTube to become Facebook CFO in 2007.

"Despite the poor economic climate, we are pleased that our financial performance is strong and we are well positioned for the next stage of our growth," said the Facebook. The company which is yet make a profit said that it is focused on growth, not in revenue.

The list of Facebook executives that have left the firm in the past year includes former chief technical officer Adam D'Angelo and Dustin Moskovitz, who co-founded the company with then-college-roommate Zuckerberg in 2004. In 2008, former COO Owen Van Natta also quit Facebook.

MySpace-Google team-up to counter Facebook
