
Mumbai, Apr 1: Anjali Waghmare, the lawyer appointed by a special court to defend the Azam Amir Kasav aka Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasav, the lone terrorist caught alive 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Earlier Waghmare had asked for one more day to take up the case following pressure from Shiv Sena.
"I am under a lot of pressure. Give me one day to decide and think over it," an emotional Waghmare told special judge M L Tahiliyani."The media has exaggerated and is saying that I have taken the case up voluntarily. There were more than 300 persons outside my house on Monday, Mar 30," she had told the court.
Kasav who earlier sought consular access from Pakistan, had requested the Mumbai court to provide a lawyer at the expense of the Maharashtra, due to lack of response from Islamabad. Court will begin the trail of Kasav and two others on Apr 6 for their involvement in the Mumbai attacks, in which over 170 people were killed.
