There is no 'third front': Advani

L K Advani
New Delhi, Mar 31: LK Advani, the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate said that there is no 'Third Front' as such and many of the small parties would join NDA if it is in a position to form government at the Centre.

"The mere presence of political parties other than those which are with the Congress or the BJP does not mean there is a Third Front. I don't think a Third Front exists," Advani said. Advani claimed that many regional parties abstain from joining BJP led NDA in fear of loosing Muslim votes and expressed confidence that such parties would join the NDA after polls. However he refused to name those parties. "The BJP has made India a bi-polar polity by ending Congress monopoly. Though I cannot say India has a two-party system, it is definitely not multi-polar," Advani said.

He said that Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is withering away and RJD, LJP and SP joining hands in Uttar Pradesh would harm the party in coming Lok Sabha polls.
