England footballers get special undies as they face Slovakia

London, Mar 28 (ANI): England's football team has been given tailor-made undies as part of their latest kit, as they play against Slovakia.

Measurements for the special snug-fitting garments, known as a "base layer", have been taken by makers Umbro for captain John Terry, 28, David Beckham, 33, Rio Ferdinand, 30, and the rest of the team.

Though the measurements remain a secret, insiders have revealed that striker Peter Crouch, 28, was "head and shoulders above his team-mates in most departments".

"Yes, I had to measure everything," the Daily Star quoted Savile Row-trained expert Charlie Allen as saying.

"There were big variations and they joked a lot about it, with many claiming to be the biggest," he added.

For skipper Terry, playing in the new outfit is something he is looking forward to.

"The fitting for the new kit was a great experience. I can't wait to get out and play in it," he said.erdinand added: "If you have that extra bit of confidence, results will come from it."

David Blanch, Umbro's Senior Designer, said: "It's the most sophisticated football kit ever." (ANI)
