World's first colour e-book from Fujitsu

Tokyo, Mar 19: World's first e-book with a colour display was launched by Fujitsu on Thursday, Mar 19 in Japan. Known as 'FLEPia' the e-book can be used with a separate memory card and can store the equivalent of 5,000 traditional books.

The gadget which weighs about 385 grams (13.5 ounces) and is 12.5 millimetres thick has a 20 centimetre 'electronic paper' which can show maximum of 260,000 colours.

When fully charged the e-book can operate upto 40 hours and is equpped with Bluetooth and high-speed wireless LAN. World's first colour e-book comes with a price tag of 99,750 yen (about $1,000).

Tokyo, Sept 3: Japan's Fujitsu Ltd has won part of a $1.5 billion order from Flag Telecom, the undersea cable arm of India's Reliance Communications Ltd. Tokyo, Jan 14: Japanese high-tech giant Toshiba Corporation. is in talks to buy rival Fujitsu Ltd.'s loss-making hard disk drive business, a company spokesman said Wednesday, Jan 14.If they reach a deal, Toshiba would become the world's largest supplier of small hard disk drives, which are seeing growing demand for use in laptops, video recorders and car navigation systems."It is true that we are holding talks with Fujitsu on purchasing its hard disk business," Toshiba spokesman Keisuke.....
