Money distribution, a ritual of Holi: Mulayam

Lucknow, Mar 14: Mulayam Singh Yadav had a justification ready for his cash-for-vote scam. Mulayam Singh Yadav replied to the Election Commission on the notice sent to him and the Samajwadi Party on distributing money to people just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Mulayam Singh replied that the money distribution was during a family function on Holi and that the EC should be satisfied with his reply.

He also clarified that he is not in the running for the PM's post. Talking about SP and Congress alliance, Mulayam said even if the alliance does not happen with the Congress, there will be an understanding and there are no differences between Congress and SP.

New Delhi, Dec 8: Counting of votes began on Monday, Dec 8 for the just-held assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram. New Delhi, Dec 8: N Gopalaswamy, the Chief Election Commissioner of India has said that General Elections are likely to be held between the mid April and mid May.
