Islamabad, Mar. 13 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister's Interior Adviser Rehman Malik has warned about the possibility of a terrorist attack during the Lawyer's Long march.

Addressing the Senate, he cited intelligence reports claiming that a Mumbai like incident could be replicated in Karachi. He also said that the lives of Sharif brothers were under threat, the Dawn reports.

Malik said in the wake of these threats, the government has warned the provincial governments urging them to make fool proof security arrangements for the security of PML-N leadership.

Furthermore, Malik said the government made several attempts to convince the lawyers to give up their plan to stage a sit-in outside the parliament house, which falls under sensitive security zone. He said several alternate venues had also been proposed, but lawyers declined all the offers.

Malik also said that he has ordered judicial inquiry into the incident of house arrest of PML-N senators Raja Zafar ul Haq and Syed Zafar Ali Shah.

Meanwhile, in his telephonic conversation with President Asif Ali Zardari, the US Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard Holbrooke has expressed his concern over the political turmoil and arrest of political and lawyers in Pakistan. (ANI)
