Mulayam accused of bribing villagers in Saifai, UP

Lucknow, mar 12: Mulayam Singh led Samajwadi Party is again in the limelight certainly for a wrong reason. Mulayam reportedly distributed money to people during Holi celebrations, violating the election model code of conduct.

Reports suggest that Samajwadi Party workers distributed money to people at 'Holi Milan', a Holi celebration organised for Mulayam Singh Yadav at Saifai. A report in CNN-IBN channels shows SP workers handing over Rs 100 note to every person present at the celebration, as a tradition followed here for years. Police and District Magistrate have rushed to Saifai to probe into the issue.

Lok Sabha polls are scheduled to happen in Apr-May and several national parties have urged the government to initiate a strict probe in to the case.

Jaipur, Mar 25: The Chittorgarh district administration in Rajasthan announced a two-hour curfew relaxation in the troubled areas of the fort city this morning to enable people to buy essential commodities. The curfew relaxation between 0800 and 1000 hrs passed off peacefully with no untoward incident being reported. People, who were home-bound since the imposition of the curfew on Saturday afternoon, thonged the markets to buy essential commodities like milk, vegetables. The Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation made special arrangements for supply.....

Chittorgarh peaceful but curfew continues

Jaipur, Mar 24: The indefinite curfew in Chittorgarh town of Rajasthan continued today without relaxation even as the situation is now stated to be peaceful. The curfew was clamped in the town following communal tension during Holi celebrations on Saturday. A Police spokesman told UNI that the situation in the affected areas of the town was now peaceful as no untoward incident was reported from anywhere since Saturday night. However, no curfew relaxation has been given so far as a precautionary measure,.....

Seven injured in clashes on Holi

Phagwara, Mar 23: Four persons sustained injuries in a clash on the occasion of Holi yesterday in the Harkrishan Nagar locality of the town, police today said. According to police reports the four persons were injured when they were attacked with sharp-edged weapons while celebrating Holi. The injured identified as Paramjit Singh, Satnam Singh, Manoj and Maneesh were admitted in the local civil hospital. The police has registered a case. UNI.....
