UN ends direct contract with Satyam Computers

Bangalore, Mar 11: Media reports claim that the United Nations is planning to terminated one of its direct contract with the fraud hit Satyam Computers.

". . . in light of the developments with Satyam, the UN has also asked a little-known UN agency called the International Computer Centre, which has served as an intermediary in hiring Satyam indirectly, replace its contract with Satyam as soon as possible," says report of Fox News. However the report did not reveal the details of the particular contract.

Satyam was suspended earlier from UN's vendor database and placed all ongoing contracts with the company under review.

Hyderabad, July 25: A principal consultant of Satyam computers Vedula Satyanarayana, who was kidnapped here yesterday, was rescued by the police from Nekkonda village in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh last night. Hyderabad, July 24: Some unidentified people kidnapped General Manager of Satyam Software Satyanarayana in the city.North Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shiva Prasad said Mr Satyanarayana was abducted by some unidentfied people from near Gitanjali Public School where he dropped his children. Satyam earns revenue of Rs 1830 crore in Q1

Hyderabad, July 20: Satyam computers, a leading global consulting and IT service company, has earned revenue of Rs 1,830 crore, an increase of 26.8 percent and a sequential increase of 2.9 percent, for the first quarter of the financial year 2007-08. While announcing the results of the company for the quarter ended June 30, this year, Satyam Computers Founder and Chairman B Ramalinga Raju said the company's net profit after tax was Rs 378 crore,.....
