Ahmedabad, Mar 11: The death toll in Hepatitis-B hit Gujarat has risen to 59 as one more death was reported from the Idar taluka of the Sabarkantha on Tuesday, Mar 10, district officials said.
Two new cases of hepatitis have been reported from Idar and Vujaynagar talukas. The total number of people affected by hepatitis B has increased to 235 of which 59 have died.
The worst affected taluks in the hepatitis outbreak were Modasa, Meghraj and Idar. 47 people have died in Modasa, nine deaths in Meghraj and two in Idar and one in Bayad.
The health department has booked cases against 13 doctors till now.
