New Delhi, Mar 10: Doctor R C Deka, dean of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), has been appointed the institute's director for the next five years.
Deka is also the head of the ENT (Ear, Nasal, Throat) Department.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Tuesday, Mar 10 cleared the name of Deka for the post, which was lying vacant after the retirement of renowned cardiologist P Venugopal in early July.
The official orders likely to be sent to AIIMS by this Tuesday, Mar 10 evening.
