Infosys inducts 20,000 freshers

Infosys Technologies
Bangalore, Mar 9: Infosys Technologies, one of India's leading software giants is said to have completed absorbing all 20,000 engineering students it had offered jobs during campus recruitment last year. Company sources said that the new graduates were inducted into its training programme started in June 2008 and the process was completed by the end of Feb.

Nandita Gurjar, Senior Vice-President and Infosys Global Human Resources head said the company could take-in all the students because it has a large centralized training centre in Mysore. The other two IT major Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro Technologies are yet to complete the induction process. All the three companies had earlier publicly stated that they will honour all campus offers made. TCS has offered jobs to about 24,000 students while Wipro to 8,000.

Hit by recession, majority of the IT companies have delayed or indefinitely postponed hiring and campus recruitments.
