'Bidding process for Satyam to begin soon'

Hyderabad, Mar 6: Satyam company board member Deepak Parekh said on Friday, Mar 6 that the global bidding process for the stake sale in sinking Satyam Computers will begin shortly.

The company also received market regulator SEBI's approval to sell 51 per cent of the stake through a global bidding process.

"The bidding process will begin shortly," Parekh told reporters here after meeting Corporate Affairs Minister P C Gupta.

Parekh, along with Satyam Chairman Kiran Karnik and board member Tarun Das, met the minister on Friday, Mar 6.

Meanwhile, Gupta said the bidding process is being done on a 'war footing". A retired Supreme Court judge would be overseeing the whole process, which would ensure that it is done in a transparent manner.

Hyderabad, July 25: A principal consultant of Satyam computers Vedula Satyanarayana, who was kidnapped here yesterday, was rescued by the police from Nekkonda village in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh last night. Police said the senior executive was rescued by a special police team, who arrested four members of the gang. Hyderabad, July 24: Some unidentified people kidnapped General Manager of Satyam Software Satyanarayana in the city.North Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shiva Prasad said Mr Satyanarayana was abducted by some unidentfied people from near Gitanjali Public School where he dropped his children. Preliminary investigations confirmed the kidnap. However, details were neither available about the identity of the kidnappers nor the reason behind the abduction. UNI.....

Satyam earns revenue of Rs 1830 crore in Q1

Hyderabad, July 20: Satyam computers, a leading global consulting and IT service company, has earned revenue of Rs 1,830 crore, an increase of 26.8 percent and a sequential increase of 2.9 percent, for the first quarter of the financial year 2007-08.
