19 year-old becomes youngest pilot

Jaipur, Mar 6: While most teens look forward to being able to drive on their 18th birthday, this 19 year old girl from Jaipur becomes the youngest commercial pilot licence holder of Rajasthan.

She wishes to fly chief minister Ashok Gehlot's chopper. "I want to work differently in the aviation sector," said Akanksha Rana, who is ready to face any challenges in the life. She is also one of the youngest commerical pilots of the country.

Akanskha took her flying training in New Zealand for 16 months.

Pilot training to Dalit girls in Puducherry

Puducherry, Nov 27: The Puducherry administration will provide pilot training to five Dalit girls in the Union Territory next year, social Welfare Minister M Kandasamy said. Inaugrating an awareness camp on women's development schemes, their rights and Protection Act, jointly organised by the National Women's Commission, Puducherry Women's Commission and Women and Child Development Corporation at Kirumambakkam near here yesterday, he said the funds required to give flying training to the girls would be given from the Special Component Plan (SCP).....

Helicopter crashes in AP village, pilots injured

Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 18: A helicopter crashed into a village following a technical snag near Keshavapur village of Bachhannapet mandal in Warangal district today. Police said according to initial reports, the helicpter was completely gutted after it caught fire. The two pilots flying the chopper managed to jump off using the parachutes. Both sustained injuries. They were rushed to Cherial hospital, where the condition of one was was stated to be critical. UNI.....
