Congress was never invited to join AIADMK: Jaya

Chennai, Mar 5: AIADMK General Secretary, J Jayalalithaa on Thursday, Mar 5 said that she never invited the Congress to join the AIADMK alliance, after her efforts to woo Congress failed.

Jayalalithaa said that she had only warned Congress not to get into the quicksand along with DMK which is popular for anti-people's activities. Jayalalithaa said, adding, ''I never invited the Congress to come back to the AIADMK alliance." Jayalalithaa made the above statement after considering the long-time friendship between Congress and AIADMK.

She said people were very angry with the DMK government for the severe power crisis, price hike, fall in agriculture and industrial production, unemployment and deterioration of law and order.

But, after Congress leader Gulam Nabi Azad meeting DMK President and Chief Minister, M Karunanidhi, Azad said that Congress and DMK shared common view on various issues. She stated that DMK and Congress had common view in swindling the nation.
