India export declines 16 pc in Jan

New Delhi, Mar 2: The data released by the government of India show that exports declined by 15.9 pc in Jan due to global slowdown. Indian exports dropped to $12.38 billion in Jan this fiscal. It was $14.71 billion a year ago. Exports contracted by 12.1 per cent to $12.8 billion in Oct 2008, showing a negative trend for the first time in the last five years.

Indian exporters are having tough time as the global markets are hit by recession.

Mumbai, Mar 13: The Rupee today opened nearly steady at 44.23/24 against the dollar from the same level of its last close on moderate dollar demand from local dealers. The Indian currency traded in a narrow range against the dollar as investors were circumspect following recent volatility in investment flows, while watching for signs of any Central Bank intervention. Later, the partially convertible Rupee was at 44.25/27 per dollar, little changed from yesterday's close of 44.23/24 on some good buying support.....

Infy BPO plans to set up Latin American centre

Mumbai, Feb 17: Bangalore-based IT major Infosys Technologies subsidiary Infosys BPO is planning on setting up a delivery centre in Latin America. The centre is expected to become operational in six months and will be part of its BPO global delivery network. After China and Eastern Europe, this will be its third delivery centre outside India. IPCA Q1 profit jumps to Rs 34.7 crore

Mumbai, July 20: Pharma major, IPCA laboratories posted a Rs 34.7 crore net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 as against Rs 24.3 crore in the curresponding period last fiscal. Total Income jumped from Rs 222.4 crore to Rs 247.2 crore, the company said in a communication to BSE today. The company has export operations in over 100 countries with more than 53 percent income coming from this segment......
