Congress, BJP no more national parties: Naidu

Hyderabad, Mar 1: N Chandrababu Naidu, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief said that the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) no longer can be called 'National parties'. They are now concentrated only in certain parts of India and could not get more than 50 pc seats in the Parliament.

He claimed that it is an age of coalition and that it is the regional parties who are going to play a major role in the coming Lok Sabha polls. He went on to say that he will be happy to form a non-Congress, non-BJP alliance at the centre. Naidu further said that his TDP is in talks with the Left parties about a 'third alternative' and is confident that the 'third front' will form the government at the centre.

Meanwhile the Left parties started their poll campaigning and are busy wooing the secular parties who are with UPA and NDA.

Nandigram issue; RS and LS adjourned for 1hour

New Delhi, Mar 16:  The Nandigram issue reverberated in the Lok Sabha for the second day today with the BJP-led Opposition creating noisy scenes and staging a demonstration, forcing the adjournment of the house for an hour.As soon as the question hour began, Opposition members trooped into the well of the house, shouting slogans and demanding the resignation of the West Bengal government over the issue of police firing in Nandigram on March 14 which resulted in the death.....
