Rupee falls to 51.12 against dollar

Mumbai, Feb 27 (ANI): The Indian Rupee on Friday depreciated to an all time low of 51.12 against the US currency.

The Pound sterling also finished higher at Rs. 72.49 at the close of Interbank Foreign Exchange market.

The rupee on Thursday only set a fresh low record of 50.46 on sudden surge in demand for dollar.

The previous low record of the domestic currency was recorded on December 2, 2008, when it touched the intra-day high of 50.60.

At its low the rupee was down 4.5 percent so far this year. (ANI)

Sonepat, Aug 1: A bus carrying 41 children fell into a bus in canal near Avlana village in Sonepat in Haryana.At least 6 bodies have been recovered so far. One is criticall injured and has been take to a hospital in Sonepat. 38 children are believed to have suffered minor injuries. Training may 'inoculate' elderly against falls

Washington, Feb 5 (ANI): In a new study, a research team, including an Indian origin scientist, has found that training people to avoid falls by repeatedly exposing them to unstable situations can help them to later maintain their balance on a slippery floor.The study led by Tanvi Bhatt and Yi-Chung (Clive) Pai, of the University of Illinois at Chicago showed how the brain develops fall prevention strategies and eventually helps people, including the elderly in preventing fall-related injuries.Previous.....

11 Sabarimala pilgrims killed as bus falls into gorge in Kerala

Kottayam (Kerala), Feb 17 (ANI): Eleven Sabarimala pilgrims were killed and 40 others injured when a bus fell into a gorge near Erumeli town in Kerala's Kottayam District in the wee hours on Tuesday.The victims were on their way to the Sabarimala hill shrine when the bus carrying 60 pilgrims slipped into a 50-foot gorge while it was passing the narrow Pampa Valley road.All victims are hailing from Andhra Pradesh's West Godavari District.The injured are undergoing treatment.....
