Indian Inflation dips to 3.36 pc

New Delhi, Feb 26: Inflation fell further to 3.36 pc for the week ended Feb 14, from 3.92 pc in the previous week. The annual inflation rate was 5.66 pc during the corresponding week in last fiscal.

The Reserve Bank of India predicted earlier that the annual inflation will fall below 3 pc by March 31, the end of the 2008/09 fiscal year. Experts believe that the Apex bank might cut interest rates again due to falling inflation and slowing economic growth. After peaking at just below 13 per cent in early August, inflation has fallen sharply as the global crisis punctured a boom in commodity prices.
