Farewell session of 14th Lok Sabha ends

New Delhi, Feb 26: The last session of the 14th Lok Sabha came to an end on Thurday, Feb 26. Speaker Somnath Chatterjee said that the conduct of MPs in the Parliament need to improve. He also made clear that he will not be contesting again.

Manmohan Singh, the Indian Prime Minister who was expected to attend the last day of the House couldn't turn up due to some infection. Acting Prime Minister Pranab Mukherjee, readout PM's speech on his behalf. Meanwhile there are speculation that the government will not dissolve the 14th Lok Sabha which had its last session on Thursday, Feb 26 as they are not in favour of pre poning the general elections.

NDA stages walkout, Railway Budget put on hold

New Delhi, Feb 26: Opposition National Democratic Alliance today disrupted the Rail Budget presentation by Railways Minister Lalu Prasad to force the Government to come out with its explanation on the suppression of the news of detention of Italian fugitive Ottavio Quattrocchi wanted in connection with the Bofors kickbacks case.Parliament has been adjourned till noon as NDA stages walkout.This was decided at a meeting of NDA leaders chaired by Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.....
