'Pak should talk directly, not through media'

New Delhi, Feb 23: External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday, Feb 23 said India is ready to cooperate with Pakistan, but underlined that the request should come through official channels only.

Talking to reporters here, Mukherjee said, "Whatever information we get from Pakistan, we respond to it. But information must be made available through official channels and not through media."

"We will carry on these type of cooperation as and when it is necessary but whatever information we get from Pakistan we respond to it but the information must be made available to us through the official," Mukherjee added.

After being provided the dossier of evidence on last year's Mumbai terror attacks, Pakistan has sought more information and in this regard given a list of 30 questions.

India has said it is examining it and will provide whatever information is possible.

Mukherjee made the statement as Pakistan's High Commissioner Shahid Malik met Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon to discuss the Mumbai attacks.

Musharraf rules out US strikes in Pakistan

Islamabad, July 27: Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said today his forces were fully capable of dealing with al Qaeda militants and dismissed the possibility of US forces taking anti-terrorism action on Pakistani soil.
