Two LTTE planes drop bombs in Colombo

Colombo, Feb 21: The LTTE have made an attempt to prove their presence in Sri Lanka by dropping bombs from their planes on Friday, Feb 20 night by entering Colombo's airspace. They dropped a 30-kg bomb near Sri Lankan army headquarters injuring atleast 36 people.

One of the two aircrafts was shot down after the bombing. The other aircarft whisked away and could not be shot down. However, the other aircraft later bombed a government tax building and set it on fire, after which it was shot down.

Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara of the Sri Lankan Air Force said, “The situation is under control now. There was only one aircraft on the radar. There have been some casualties."

Colombo: US, Italy Ambassadors injured

Colombo, Feb 27: At least six people, including the US and Italian Ambassadors to Sri Lanka, have been wounded in suspected LTTE shelling in the Eastern Batticaloa district today, military and diplomatic sources here said. According to the sources, the military helicopter carrying Sri Lankan Minister for Disaster Management and Human Rights Mahinda Samarasinghe, US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Robert O Blake and Italian Ambassador Pio Mariani, was landing when the shells suspectedly fired by the LTTE hit the landing pad.....

Colombo, Jan 31: Suspected Tamil Tiger rebels ambushed a police bus with a roadside bomb outside a university in eastern Sri Lanka today, killing six officers as they headed on leave, the military said.The attack in the restive eastern district of Batticaloa came after the government vowed to wipe out the Tigers militarily, a development analysts say could deepen a new chapter in a two-decade civil war.''A Claymore (fragmentation mine) attack in front of the Eastern University.....

Dear Mr. Nedumaran, Mr. Ramdoss, Mr. Vaiko and Other SLTPF team, Tamils living throught the world really appreciate your efforts for focusing on this great cause. Indian govt is not listening to tamilan voice, so I have a small suggestion: - Let Mr. Nedumaran decides 40 prominent people on behaf of SLTPF and ask them to contest in this coming loksabha election. - All 40 people fights on common symbol under SLTPF umberrla - So these 40 can support any govt in delhi and extract the rights for tamil. - Let all 40 MPs must resign as soon as the issue is resolved for normal election - Afterwards all constituent ( like PMK, MDMK, VCK etc) can fight the election based on their idealogy.
