Moderate earthquake shakes Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Feb 20 (ANI): A moderate earthquake, measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale, hit Jammu and Kashmir on Friday morning.

There were no immediate reports of any casualty or damages.

The quake was felt in several parts of the state, including Srinagar, and areas bordering Pakistan at 9:19 a.m., the MeT Department said.

The epicentre of the quake was located on the Indo-Pak border region. (ANI)

Jakarta, Dec 18: Three moderate earthquakes struck Indonesia's Sumatra island today, killing four people in one area and triggering landslides, officials said. The first earthquake struck at 4:10 am (0240IST today) with a magnitude of 5.8. Its epicentre was 128 km under the sea southwest of the city of Banda Aceh, an official from Indonesia's meteorology and geophysical agency said. The second, which had a magnitude of 5.7, came about 30 minutes later on.....

Srinagar, Dec 12: The moderate Hurriyat Conference, led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, today welcomed Pakistan's assertion that the contentious Kashmir issue must be settled in accordance with the aspirations of the people. In a statement here, a Hurriyat spokesman said the present scenario demanded realism and courage which had been fully demonstrated by Pakistan for the resolution of the Kashmir issue. The spokesman expressed the hope that Pakistan's flexibility and courage would pay.....

Moderate intensity quake hits Myanmar

New Delhi, Aug 18: A moderate intensity quake shook Myanmar this morning. The quake, measuring 5 on the Richter scale, struck the country at 0626 hrs, the Indian Meteorological Deparatment said. The epicentre of the quake was 22.9 degrees North Latitude and 94.3 degrees East Longitude. No loss of life or property was reported, the department added.UNI.....
