Decision on Satyam bidding soon: L&T

Mumbai, Feb 20: Larsen and Toubro said only after reviewing the Company Law Board order, it will take a decision on bidding for Satyam Computer Services. On Thursday, Feb 19 the CLB granted permission to fraud-hit Satyam to conduct a public auction for inducting a strategic investor and to raise its equity base.

The government appointed Board of Directors of Satyam was also authorised by CLB for making allotment of preferential shares and raise its equity capital by 75 pc from Rs 160 cr to 280 cr.

Abducted Satyam Executive rescued in AP

Hyderabad, July 25: A principal consultant of Satyam computers Vedula Satyanarayana, who was kidnapped here yesterday, was rescued by the police from Nekkonda village in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh last night. Police said the senior executive was rescued by a special police team, who arrested four members of the gang. Mr Satyanarayana would be brought here by noon, police said, adding that they cracked the case by tracking down a ransom call made.....

Hyderabad, July 24: Some unidentified people kidnapped General Manager of Satyam Software Satyanarayana in the city.North Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Shiva Prasad said Mr Satyanarayana was abducted by some unidentfied people from near Gitanjali Public School where he dropped his children. Preliminary investigations confirmed the kidnap. However, details were neither available about the identity of the kidnappers nor the reason behind the abduction. UNI.....

Satyam earns revenue of Rs 1830 crore in Q1

Hyderabad, July 20: Satyam computers, a leading global consulting and IT service company, has earned revenue of Rs 1,830 crore, an increase of 26.8 percent and a sequential increase of 2.9 percent, for the first quarter of the financial year 2007-08. While announcing the results of the company for the quarter ended June 30, this year, Satyam Computers Founder and Chairman B Ramalinga Raju said the company's net profit after tax was Rs 378 crore,.....
