Lankan army captures Puthukkudiyiruppu

Colombo, Feb 19: Sri Lanka army claimed that they killed atleast 53 LTTE rebels in fierce clashes in the north and captured a strategic rebel stronghold. The soldiers of 58 Division of the Lankan Army took over Puthukkudiyiruppu West which is located about 18 miles from Parantham.

This town is the last stronghold of remaining LTTE enclave. Army also arrested about 10 LTTE cadres including one women and handed then over to Vavuniya police for further probe. Troops also recovered the rebels bodies along with weapons. Fierce battle is on between the army and LTTE cadres causing severe damage to the outfit in Udayakattu area and Puthukkudiyiruppu West on Thursday, Feb 19.

TELSCC to collect food, medicine for Tamils in SL

Chennai, Dec 12: Tamil Eelam Liberation Supporters Coordination Committee (TELSCC) will launch a fortnight long movement in the state from December 15 to collect food, medicines and other essential commodities to the starving Tamils in Lanka.TELSCC Convenor P Nedumaran, a staunch supporter of Tamil Eelam, yesterday said here that the collected materials would be despatched to the suffering Tamils through the International Red Cross Society.In a statement here, Mr Nedumaran said the TELSCC also condemned the Lankan government.....
